Gastric Reflux

Gastric reflux is common in children with CdCS.

There are many treatment options, ranging from daily medication to surgery. The following are common, after consultation with a paediatrician:

  • Thickened feeds
  • Elimination of cow’s milk and products
  • Alginate (Gaviscon)
  • Histamine-2 receptor antagonists
  • Proton pump inhibitors
  • Metoclopramide or domperidone
  • Surgery to tighten the top of the stomach (Fundoplication)
